Chertsey, UK - September 22, 2003 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, today announced that its EA Partners division has signed an exclusive distribution and publishing agreement with Square Enix Co., Ltd for FINAL FANTASY® X-2 on the PlayStation ® 2 computer entertainment system throughout Europe and all PAL territories. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

FINAL FANTASY is the most successful role-playing game of all time, selling over 44 million units during the lifetime of the franchise. FINAL FANTASY X-2, scheduled for release in Europe in early 2004, is a sequel that brings back the cast and world of FINAL FANTASY X for another epic adventure. 'Square Enix has a long-standing reputation for developing incredibly creative properties of the highest quality,' said Frank Sagnier, Vice-President EA Partners Europe. 'FFX-2 is a breakthrough in the Final Fantasy series in terms of gameplay as it appeals to its core fans whilst its enhanced accessibility will attract an even broader consumer base.'
