Ubisoft and Stuff Magazine host event for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2
LOS ANGELES, (December 3, 2004) – ‘Tis better to give than to receive, which is why Ubisoft and Stuff Magazine are hosting the launch party for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon 2 to benefit the Armed Forces Foundation on Wednesday, December 8 in Los Angeles. Hosted by actress Alyssa Milano, this one-of-a-kind celebration will give guest attendees, including celebrities and service men and women, the opportunity to experience Ghost Recon 2, one of this holiday season’s most-anticipated video games. Service men and women will challenge their military counterparts at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. A live video feed will be available as they play Ghost Recon 2 from the remote locations.

At the event, Ubisoft will present a $15,000 donation to the Armed Forces Foundation, a charitable organization established to promote the morale, welfare, and quality of life of the United States armed forces community, including active duty military, reservists and retired personnel and their families.

“The military has been a huge inspiration in helping us create the realism and authenticity of Ghost Recon 2, and we’re very excited to be able to give something back with this donation to the Armed Forces Foundation,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. “During this holiday season, we wanted to do something both fun and philanthropic for the men and women in service, who are unable to come home to see their loved ones, and for the families that will miss them this year.”

Set in North Korea, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon 2 gives gamers an insider’s view of the way which large-scale conflicts will be fought in the near future. Ghost Recon 2 continues the tradition of intensity and realism associated with Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy brand, to fully immerse gamers into the chaos of a high tech war, with an emotionally charged storyline, a completely redesigned graphics engine and the most intuitive gameplay to date. The game will offer white-knuckle tension and explosive action as it puts players in command of an elite squad of U.S. Special Forces. In addition, the top-notch multiplayer action that gamers expect from Ubisoft will once again place Ghost Recon 2 at the top of online console and PC gaming and will make Ghost Recon 2 a must-have for all online gaming fans.
